AI follow-up calls for course and admission enquiries

From ₹1 a minute at volume (₹1,00,000/month commitment), or ₹5 pay as you go, no commitment

₹1 is the T1 voice rate. On T1, Mirai phone calling (₹0.30/min) and call insights (₹0.20/min) are optional; T5 includes both. All prices exclude GST.

From ₹1 a minute on the volume plan (₹5 a minute pay as you go), an agent calls back every student or parent who enquired about a course, answers the fee, batch and eligibility questions from the facts you give it, and books a counselling slot. Counsellors start each conversation knowing who they're speaking to, what was asked and what the agent couldn't answer. Parents who ring the number back can reach the same agent if you call from your own number.

No sign-up to look around.

On T1, per connected call

₹4for a 240-second call at ₹1/min

T1 has a ₹1,00,000 monthly commitment. Pay as you go on T5, the same call is ₹20.

How a call goes

A written example of the script, not a recording. Your agent says what your prompt tells it to, in your customer's language.

  1. Agent

    नमस्ते, मैं Acme Academy की AI assistant बोल रही हूँ। आपने NEET coaching के बारे में enquiry की थी। क्या मेरी बात Ananya से हो रही है?

Hello, I'm Acme Academy's AI assistant. You enquired about NEET coaching. Am I speaking with Ananya?

  2. Caller

    नहीं, मैं उसकी मम्मी बोल रही हूँ। Ananya school गई है।

No, this is her mother. Ananya is at school.

  3. Agent

    कोई बात नहीं, आपसे भी बात हो सकती है। Ananya अभी किस class में है?

That's fine, I can speak with you too. Which class is Ananya in now?

  4. Caller

    Eleventh में। Fees कितनी है, और batch कब से शुरू है?

Eleventh. What are the fees, and when does the batch start?

  5. Agent

    Two-year classroom program की fee एक लाख चालीस हज़ार रुपये है, जो चार किश्तों में भी दे सकते हैं। नया batch तीन November से शुरू है।

The two-year classroom programme is 1,40,000 rupees, which can also be paid in four instalments. The new batch starts on 3 November.

  6. Caller

    Hostel की सुविधा है?

    Is there a hostel?

  7. Agent

    Hostel की पक्की जानकारी मेरे पास नहीं है, counsellor आपको बता देंगी। क्या मैं counsellor से बात fix कर दूँ? Saturday सुबह ग्यारह बजे या शाम चार बजे खाली है।

I don't have confirmed information on the hostel; the counsellor will tell you. Shall I set up a talk with the counsellor? Saturday at 11 in the morning or 4 in the evening is open.

  8. Caller

    शाम चार बजे, तब Ananya भी घर पर रहेगी।

Four in the evening. Ananya will be home then too.

  9. Agent

    Saturday शाम चार बजे, counsellor का call इसी number पर। Course की details WhatsApp पर भी भिजवा देंगे। धन्यवाद।

Saturday at 4 in the evening, the counsellor will call this number. We'll also send the course details on WhatsApp. Thank you.

What you send

One row per person you call

Upload a CSV to a campaign, or send the same fields as call variables from your own system. The phone number comes first; the other columns are what the agent reads out or decides on.

The template has a header row and one guide row that says what goes in each column. The console skips that row when you upload the file. Download it, add your contacts under it, and upload.
ColumnExampleWhat goes in it
phoneRequired +91… The number to call, with the country code (+91…). A ten-digit Indian mobile gets +91 added. In Excel, format this column as Text first so the number is not changed.
student_nameOptional Ananya —
course_interestOptional NEET two-year classroom programme —
centreOptional Indore —
fee_noteOptional ₹1,40,000 for two years, or four instalments The only fee figures the agent may quote. Pass it per contact so a fee change doesn't need a new agent.
next_batchOptional 3 November —
enquiry_sourceOptional website form Extra info. Keep the form record on your side too; see the TRAI note below.
lead_idOptional ENQ-55021 Extra info, returned in every webhook.

What comes back

The result of every call

Each call ends with one webhook event that carries the transcript and the result, and the campaign report has a row for every contact. These are the result fields an agent for this job fills in.

FieldExampleWhat it means
analysis.data.spoke_with parent A field you define: student, parent or other.
analysis.data.current_class 11 Yours to define.
analysis.data.questions_asked fees, batch start, hostel Yours to define. Shows what families ask first, which tells you what your website should say.
analysis.data.unanswered hostel Questions the agent couldn't answer from your facts. The counsellor should open with these.
analysis.data.counselling_slot 2026-10-18T16:00:00+05:30 The slot booked through your on-call tool, when one was booked.
analysis.template.name course_brochure_hi The WhatsApp message the analysis picked from your approved templates. Your system sends it.
metadata.lead_id ENQ-55021 Your enquiry id, unchanged.

Cost

What a 240-second call costs

Worked out from our price list. 240 seconds is our assumption for a typical connected call of this kind, not a measurement from your calls. Put your own volumes into the AI calling cost calculator.

Base voice rate on each tier, before GST. All prices exclude GST.
TierRatePer connected callPer 1,000 connected callsMonthly minimum
T1 ₹1 / min ₹4 ₹4,000 ₹1,00,000 a month
T3 ₹3 / min ₹12 ₹12,000 ₹50,000 a month
T5 ₹5 / min ₹20 ₹20,000 None
240 s → 24 blocks of 10 s = 240 s billed T1: 240 s × ₹1 ÷ 60 = ₹4T3: 240 s × ₹3 ÷ 60 = ₹12T5: 240 s × ₹5 ÷ 60 = ₹20
  • T5 and T3 include Mirai phone calling and call insights. On T1 they are optional: phone calling at ₹0.30/min and insights at ₹0.20/min. With both on, this call comes to about ₹6 on T1. Mirai phone calling is metered on the carrier's billing block, so treat that figure as an estimate.
  • T1's ₹1,00,000 monthly minimum pays for 25,000 calls of this length; T3's ₹50,000 monthly minimum pays for 4,166 calls of this length. Monthly commitments are credited to your wallet. Unused credit never expires. Paid usage counts towards the minimum, and only a shortfall is settled at month end.
  • Calls that ring out, are busy or fail to connect are not billed. A voicemail is billed like a connected call.

In detail

AI follow-up calls for course and admission enquiries: in detail

Why follow up enquiries with an agent?

Enquiries arrive in waves, after results, after an ad campaign, in the weeks before a batch starts. A counselling team can’t call every one back within the hour, and the families who enquired are usually comparing two or three institutes at once. Whoever calls first with clear answers gets the counselling session.

The first questions are nearly always the same: how much, when does it start, is there an instalment option, is it online or classroom, is there a hostel. An agent answers the ones you’ve given it facts for, in Hindi or English, and books the counselling slot. Whatever it couldn’t answer goes into a field, so the counsellor opens the call with it.

Parents often pick up instead of the student, or call back later on their own. The agent can carry on with whoever answers, and if you call from your own number with an inbound agent on it, a parent who rings back is answered too. That’s why this page is marked as both outbound and inbound.

How do you set it up?

  1. Write the prompt with a short FACTS section and per-contact variables: {{course_interest}}, {{centre}}, {{fee_note}}, {{next_batch}}. Say that a parent may answer, and that the agent must never promise results, ranks or scholarships.
  2. Put facts that change, like fees and batch dates, in variables instead of the prompt. A campaign keeps the agent exactly as it was when the campaign was created, so a fee change typed into the agent later won’t reach a running campaign. A new column in tomorrow’s upload will.
  3. Add on-call HTTP tools against your counsellors’ calendar: one to read open slots and one to book. Without one, have the agent take a preferred time and let the counselling desk confirm it.
  4. Turn on analysis with spoke_with, current_class, questions_asked, unanswered and counselling_slot, and give it your approved WhatsApp templates, such as the course brochure or the fee structure.
  5. Test it in the browser as a student, as a parent who asks about the hostel, and as someone who enquired for a different course.
  6. Run an always-on campaign through the API. Your enquiry form adds each lead with POST /v2/campaigns/{id}/contacts, with the lead id and source as metadata. Set the calling window around school hours, since a student is rarely free at 11 in the morning.
  7. Rent a number through Mirai or connect your Plivo number, set it as the campaign’s Calls come from, and assign an inbound version of the agent to it for families who call back.

What should counsellors keep?

Counselling itself: course choice, a student’s preparation level, scholarship and discount decisions, and anything about results. The agent books the session and briefs the counsellor through the fields, and the counsellor runs it. When a family wants to talk to someone right now, the agent can’t transfer the call, so it books the earliest slot or promises a callback.

What should you check before calling families?

TRAI’s Third Amendment to the TCCCPR, notified on 18 September 2026, recognises a relationship based on an inquiry for seven days after it, if the inquiry was made in writing or through digital means and is kept in a verifiable form. For an application, the period is three months. So a website enquiry from yesterday and an application from last month are on different clocks. Keep the form record, with its timestamp and consent text, and settle anything older with your telecom provider or counsel.

The same amendment asks every sender to declare software-placed calls, including artificial-voice calls, to its originating telecom provider in advance with the numbers it will use, and treats undeclared ones as unsolicited. It takes effect in stages. For calling hours, check TRAI’s current rules and your consent records. We don’t scrub numbers against the national DND register, so that check is yours.

What does an enquiry call cost?

Only connected minutes are billed. On T1 a connected minute costs ₹1 with a ₹1,00,000 monthly commitment, plus ₹0.30 for Mirai phone calling and ₹0.20 for call insights if you switch them on. On T5 it’s ₹5 a minute, pay as you go, with both included. Prices exclude GST. The cost block assumes about four minutes connected, an estimate for a call where a parent asks several questions and books a slot; a “we’ve already joined elsewhere” ends in seconds. Compare it with what one enrolment is worth. Pricing has the plans and the cost calculator takes your enquiry volume.

Questions

Can the agent talk to parents as well as students?

Yes. Tell it in the prompt that a parent may answer and that it can carry on with them. Record who it spoke with, so the counsellor knows whether the student has heard any of it yet.

Will it promise results or selections?

It shouldn't, and your prompt should forbid it outright. Give it the facts it may quote, such as fees, batch dates and eligibility. For anything about results, rankings, scholarships or discounts, it says the counsellor will discuss it.

Can families call us back on the number they saw?

Yes, if the call came from your own number and you assign an inbound agent to it. Calls from the Mirai shared line show a number other businesses use too, so a parent ringing it back can't reach your institute.

How can an enquiry call cost ₹1 a minute?

₹1 a minute is the T1 voice rate, for teams that commit ₹1,00,000 a month, and the commitment is credited to your wallet. We can price it there because we run our own speech recognition, language model and voice on our own GPUs in India; owning the stack is how we keep a minute cheap at volume. On T1, Mirai phone calling adds ₹0.30 a minute and call insights ₹0.20 a minute if you turn them on. Wallet credit never expires, though the commitment is a minimum monthly spend. An institute starting out can use T5 at ₹5 a minute, pay as you go, with phone calling and insights included, or T3 at ₹3 a minute with a ₹50,000 commitment. Prices exclude GST.
